In response to the advocacy of Philippine government to use a government website template (GWT) “in order to give government websites a uniform corporate identity, ease visitor navigation, and enhance website security,” the Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) has overhauled its website. The new look and feel can now be observed through the beta version which can be viewed in the same URL http://fasps.denr.gov.ph/.

An initiative of Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO), and Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO), the web template was launched in 2013 and has undergone continuous development since then. The mandate to use the template is enforced by virtue of Administrative Order 39 signed by the President himself.

The next set of tasks involves moving what should be moved from the old web pages to the corresponding new ones. Complication arises due in part to the use of newer version of development framework which renders significant number of compatibility issues with the older version. In this light, we call on our partners to bear with us a bit more as the process may take some time. #
