A number of staffers of the Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service participated in the National Clean-Up Day: Adopt-an-Estero/Waterbody Program on October 1, 2016. The site of the cleanup this time was the Maricaban Creek in Pasay City. Various national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), multinational and private donors, and other stakeholders came united to bring back to life water bodies in Metro Manila, many of which are in advanced state of degradation.
Spearheaded by the Environmental Management Bureau – National Capital Region (EMB-NCR) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the activity gave impetus to the Five-point Agenda on Environment, which includes Clean Water and Clean 500 to improve water quality in priority rivers and water bodies in Metro Manila. #
