fasps tree planting sanmateo 600pxIn celebration of the 27th National Statistics Month, the Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) participated in the 12th Tree Planting Activity spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in San Mateo, Rizal on October 25, 2016 with the theme “Sustainable Development: Making Statistics Count”.

Rubber tree, lipote and acacia seedlings were planted within the 73-hectare MMDA Landfill in San Mateo, Rizal. Government agencies like the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) including the Municipal Office of San Mateo, Rizal and volunteers from Barangay Pintong Bukawe also joined the inter-agency tree planting activity.

“Your gesture of having your tree planting activity right here in Barangay Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo Rizal is a strong testament that you are all with us in our efforts to care, conserve, preserve and protect our environment,” said San Mateo Municipal Mayor Tina Diaz. #
