As the curtain of the Philippines Chiller Energy Efficiency Project (PCEEP) is drawn to a close, the project management team spearheaded a sustainability planning workshop to ensure smooth transition, mainstreaming, and continuity of the program. The event was held in the beautiful Puerto Princesa City, Palawan between October 17 and October 21, 2016.
The other target of the activity was to come up with a comprehensive synthesis of project activities, accomplishments, findings, experiences, and ways of moving forward through a Project Completion Report (PCR).
As of the first semester of CY 2016, PCEEP saw the recovery of 5.73 tons of Ozone Depleting Potentials (ODP) out of the targeted 5.6 tons from chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs); abatement of 122.76 kilotons carbon dioxide equivalent (ktCO2e) from the energy savings and recovered refrigerants, which is 97% above the original target; mitigation of 12.75 megawatts in energy demand; and generation of 29.7 gigawatt hours (GWh) in electricity savings.
The PCR would be developed in accordance with the institutional, technical, and financial aspects of the project. #
