In Puerto Princesa City, representatives from different municipalities of Palawan attended a communication planning workshop led by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD). The workshop discussed concept modeling and theory of change, and writing a tactical communication plan.
In writing their communication plans, the participants identified their key products—for instance, a species conservation campaign; the supporting communication collaterals, such as billboards, posters and others; and the message they wanted to convey. They were also taught how to identify their target audience and how to launch and sustain a successful communication campaign.
At the end of the workshop, participants were asked to act out parts of the campaign plan they had created. These plans would serve as their framework when launching upcoming conservation campaigns in Palawan.
Held in partnership with the USAID Protect Wildlife project, the workshop was part of a collaborative effort to ensure that PCSD activities and initiatives were cohesive and aligned with the partnership goals and constantly reflect biodiversity and conservation principles.(PWP/ Meg Yandoc)
