icrmp islam 600pxMission Team Leader, Mr. Nasimul Islam (center), conversing with one of the Amihan Boys.The DENR Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), conducted a Project Completion Review Mission for the Integrated Coastal Resources Management Project (ICRMP) last September 29-30, 2015 in Davao Oriental.

The ICRMP was a six-year project implemented from 2007 to 2013 but was extended for one year until June 2014. The Project aimed at sustainable management of coastal resources and increased income for coastal communities. Thus, the review mission was conducted to assess and evaluate the Project's overall performance and determine if project initiatives have resulted in positive gains for the intended beneficiaries.

The Mission Team also conducted on-site visits to the project sites in Davao Oriental to further gather information and review major activities implemented in the area. During the field visits, the Mission Team was able to interact with the project beneficiaries, government officials NGOs and other relevant stakeholders. Among the sites visited by the team are the Regional Integrated Coastal Resources Management Center in Mati; the municipal water system in Boston; the drainage system in Cateel; and an ecotourism site in Baganga.

The information gathered from the review mission shall serve as inputs in the preparation of the ICRMP's Project Completion Report (PCR), which is a documentation of the findings, lessons learned, best practices and experiences gained by the Project and would serve as guide in the formulation of future policies, projects and programs. #
