The Philippines Climate Change Adaptation Project forged a definite financial and communication plan for its extension phase during a summit in Angeles, Pampanga attended by its implementing government agencies – October 1-2, 2015.

A standard protocol for accounting and financial reporting was reached after the conclusion of the finance summit. On the other hand, an information exchange mechanism was proposed by the participants of the communications summit.

The project decided to hold the summit after discussions in the World Bank’s June mission revealed several pressing financial and communication issues.

During the summit, agency representatives presented on some of the project fundamentals, which include obligation and disbursement rates and communication program proposals for the project’s extension period in 2016.

DENR Auditor Normita Narvaez from the Commission on Audit led the summit on finance, while the project’s IEC Officer moderated the discussion on communication.

Enthusiasm seemed high among the project implementers, with all agencies represented not only by their national representatives, but also by personnel from the regional offices. Also present were officials of the DENR, including the Undersecretary for Policy and Planning and the Director of the Strategic Communication and Information Service. #
