January 27-29, 2016 - The Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS), in partnership with the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), conducted the Orientation Workshop on the Official Developmental Assistance (ODA) in Angeles City, Pampanga to inculcate among the project implementers the importance of efficient, accurate, and timely provision of information in ODA forms.
As stipulated in Republic Act 8182 or the Official Development Assistance (ODA) Act of 1996, the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) (a) conducts an annual review of the status of all projects financed by ODA; and, (b) identifies causes of implementation and completion delays or reasons for bottlenecks, cost overruns (actual and prospective) and continued project or program viability.
Implementing agencies are required to submit all the necessary information to NEDA for all ODA-funded loans and grants yearly. The Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) of the Department of Environment Natural Resources consolidates all the reports of ODA-funded projects relative to environment and natural resources before submission.
To comply with ODA commitment, the body agreed on an advanced date of submission of ODA reports to FASPS before the NEDA's deadline.
