The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) have agreed to cooperate in pursuit of the sustainable development objectives of Mindanao and have identified the promotion of renewable energy technologies for productive use, as an initial area for collaboration. The first collaborative project, “Renewable Energy Technologies for Seaweed Value-added in Tawi-Tawi (RETS)”, is funded by the European Union and co-financed by several partners including UNIDO, MinDA, Tawi-Tawi Electric Cooperative (TAWELCO), Provincial Government of Tawi- Tawi, Mindanao State University (MSU), Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), and, Association of Isolated Electric Cooperatives Missionary Green Energy Corp. (AIEC-MGE) as a Joint Venture partnership with Island Light and Water Energy Development Corporation (ILAW).
The Project Management Unit seeks a qualified national evaluation consultant that will assess project performance. Evaluation is an assessment, as systematic and impartial as possible, of a programme, a project or a theme. The assignment will be carried out with the view towards ensuring achievement and evaluability of the targets set in the log frame and providing recommendations to help UNIDO improve performance and results of ongoing and future programmes and projects.
The Final Evaluation Consultant is expected to work closely with the RETS Project Management Unit (PMU).
