The members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the Tagum-Libuganon River Basin (TLRB) participated in the first stakeholder workshop held in Toril, Davao City on 28–30 November 2023 to update the TLRB Masterplan. Organized by the Project Ecosystem-Based Management and Application of Ecosystem Values in Two River Basins in the Philippines (E2RB) project, the activity brought together a number of TLRB stakeholders with different perspectives but were eager to understand the current ecological status and challenges of TLRB and contribute to make a robust masterplan that meets those challenges.

Through SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis and scenario planning exercises, the participants formulated the vision, mission, goals, and objectives that reflect their aspirations and unwavering dedication to the preservation and sustainable administration of the Tagum-Libuganon River Basin.

The E2RB project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and implemented by GIZ and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
